The Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of Food, Agriculture, Materials and Chemistry Standards through Technical Committees (TC).

Responsible for the Coordination of the standards development work, managing and dissemination of standards and other trade related information. The TCS department is the hub of all standards and other related publications, L.Is, Gazettes, Bulletins, Acts/Laws etc It is responsible for the overall Coordination of the Standards Development process at GSA, and the dissemination of Standards and Trade related Information.
